Drew Ferguson is the Director of UAB Sports Medicine at Children’s of Alabama, Chair Public Policy Committee Alabama Concussion Task Force, Member of the AHSAA Health Advisory Committee, Director of The Children’s of Alabama Concussion Clinic. Drew is a Licensed Certified Athletic Trainer with 41 years’ experience, working with junior high, senior high, college, and professional athletes. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Georgia and his Master of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1975, Drew co-founded the UAB Sports Medicine Clinic with Dr. Kurt Niemann and has served as its Director since that time. He was the first Head Athletic Trainer at UAB, serving under Head Coach and AD Gene Bartow. He served as Chairman of the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers and was inducted into the Alabama Athletic Trainers Hall of Fame.
